It provides two HyfinVent® seals in a single pack for treating both entry and exit wounds or in the case of multiple penetrating chest injuries.
The new design features three channels that prevent air from entering the chest cavity during inhalation while allowing air to escape through the vent channels during exhalation. These channels also allow blood to escape and ensure non-occlusion, as even if two of the three channels become blocked, ventilation continues through the third channel.
Packaged in aluminum with an easy-open system, the packaging is perforated in the middle so that only one seal can be opened if the second is not needed, allowing the remaining seal to be saved for later use. Each seal includes a gauze pad to clean the wound surface prior to application.
The HyFin TwinPack Chest Seal with Valve is an occlusive dressing measuring 15.24 x 15.24 cm, with an integrated valve and three channels, providing superior occlusion during protocols that require the use of a secure three-part dressing or a vented chest seal. It features enhanced adhesive gel that creates a superior seal even in the harshest conditions, including low temperatures and patients with significant body hair. The seal has a transparent liner for direct placement over the wound and easily conforms to the patient’s chest.
