The Russell PneumoFix®-8 needle is a sterile decompression needle consisting of a Veress-tipped needle inserted through an 8 cm catheter, equipped with a low-pressure release valve.

The Veress tip and indicator device facilitate safe insertion with minimal risk of injury to the underlying lung, while the low-pressure release valve allows decompression of a tension pneumothorax with minimal potential for subsequent air re-entry.

Features:

• Stainless steel needle with Veress tip and Tecoflex polyurethane catheter.
• The catheter contains 20% barium sulfate, making it radiopaque for X-ray visibility.
• Syringe to female luer connector on the Veress needle.
• Supplied sterile.
• Graduated markings and X-ray detectable catheter for accurate depth recording and precise hospital localization.
• 14-gauge catheter enables rapid air evacuation in cases of tension pneumothorax (approximately 2.11 mm outer diameter).
