SIMUVAD 2025

IES Medical participates in SIMUVAD 2025 Congress at La Paz University Hospital

The SIMUVAD 2025 Congress, held last week at La Paz University Hospital (Madrid), brought together national and international specialists in anesthesia, critical care, and emergency medicine to share knowledge and train skills in advanced airway management.

The opening ceremony featured Dr. Javier García Fernández (President of SEDAR), Dr. Carmen Hernández Gancedo (Head of the Anesthesia Department at La Paz Hospital), and Dr. Pedro Garrido Ortega (Course Director), who inaugurated three days of practical training, clinical simulation, and technological innovation.

Throughout the congress, key topics were addressed such as airway management safety, lung isolation, pediatric, obstetric, and obese airway management, difficult extubation, evidence on videolaryngoscope use, and the SEDAR Airway Management Guidelines, among others. The sessions fostered dynamic, practice-oriented clinical discussions.

One of the highlights was the live broadcast of real cases from the operating room, where attendees were able to observe advanced techniques for intubation, ventilation, and airway management — always with the active participation and consent of the patients.

During the high-fidelity simulation workshops at the IDIPAZ Center, participants — anesthesiologists, intensivists, and emergency physicians — applied their technical skills to complex clinical scenarios, reinforcing the value of simulation training as an essential educational tool.

IES Medical took part in the congress presenting its most advanced airway management solutions, represented by Almudena Martín, Julio Yagüe, and Ángela Puig, with a special focus on Flow-Controlled Ventilation (FCV):

  • EVONE, the world’s only mechanical ventilator featuring Flow-Controlled Ventilation (FCV) technology.
  • VENTRAIN, a manual continuous-flow device for airway rescue and short procedures.
  • FLEXTIP, a flexible intubation guide that drew great interest among attendees.
  • A high-resolution videolaryngoscope.
  • And a difficult airway simulation head, which challenged even the most experienced professionals.

IES Medical’s participation in SIMUVAD 2025 reaffirms its commitment to innovation, continuous medical education, and improving safety in airway management.

The company extends its gratitude to the organizers, speakers, and participants for their dedication, enthusiasm, and high scientific standards, which made this valuable educational experience possible for the medical community.
